In 1933, Banque de Dépôts et de Gestion (BDG) was established in Lausanne by a group of leading figures from the French-speaking Canton of Vaud. Its main activities are in the area of private banking and wealth management, but BDG is also active in the fields of lending and savings while also handling all types of standard banking transaction.
Since its creation, BDG has aimed to be a bank on a human scale, a humanistic approach often summed up in the words of the Greek philosopher Protagoras, who held that “man is the measure of all things”. BDG’s core values are inspired by this maxim, reflected in the Bank’s ability to take into account the specific expectations of each of its clients and offer them individualised solutions.
The BDG operates since 1972 in Lugano and since 2005 in Singapore.
In 1994, BDG’s share capital was wholly acquired by Banca Popolare di Bergamo - Credito Varesino which, through a succession of mergers, became part of UBI Banca Group in 2007.
