Banque de Dépôts et de Gestion (BDG) was established in Lausanne in 1933 by a group of personalities from the French-speaking Canton of Vaud in Switzerland. In addition to its main business activity of private banking, BDG is also active in the fields of residential mortgage lending, savings as well as all other standard banking operations.

Since its foundation, BDG has been determined to be a bank worthy of human values, keeping faith with the axiom of the Greek philosopher Protagoras who declared that “Man is the measure of all things”. This maxim imbues the values adhered to by BDG and is reflected in the Bank’s focus on meeting each of its clients’ specific expectations and providing them with individualised solutions.

BDG’s first branch was opened in Lugano in 1972, before taking over in 1983 Banque Courvoisier in Neuchâtel. In 2009, an agency and a new branch have been opened in Yverdon-les-Bains and Geneva.

Since 2005, BDG has also been present abroad when it opened its representative office in Singapore. In 2008, the representative office turned into a financial company under the name of BDG Singapore Private Ltd, which in the course of June of this same year was granted by the Singaporean authorities a Financial advisory licence

In 1994, Banca Popolare di Bergamo – Credito Varesino acquired all of BDG’s share capital. After mergers in 2003 and 2007 undertaken by its mother company, the Bank’s capital is today owned by UBI Banca group.
